IBM finally regains power over Microsoft

IBM continues to gain market value

IBM, which marked its 100th anniversary back in June, has further cause for celebration after surpassing Microsoft in market value for the first time in over 15 years, becoming the world's second largest technology company.

IBM has continued to make steady gains throughout 2011 resulting in a 22 per cent higher value compared to the start of the year, with the company now valued at $214 billion (
